Student of the Month for September

By Staff Writer
Staff Writer

Senior Austyn Rodgers was selected as student of the month for September. He is the son of Lynda and Gary Rodgers and is a relative newcomer to the Heights. Austyn has one sister, Alyssa, a freshman here at PHHS. Austyn attended Highland High School in Highland, Arkansas, freshman and sophomore years, and came to PHHS as a junior.
An all-round athlete, Austyn has participated in football and track here at PHHS. This year he thinks he may try baseball as well.
Austyn’s favorite class is Sociology. It’s really fascinating, and Mrs. Miller does such a good job balancing work and quizzes and tests that he never feels overwhelmed.
PHHS faculty members had some nice things to say about Austyn. “Austyn Rodgers is hard-working, respectful, and very conscientious. He completes his work on time, and always puts forth 100 percent effort.”
“Austyn Rodgers is outstanding in academics as well as being extremely respectful and always dedicated and hardworking in the classroom.”
Austin’s future plans include attending ICC to start with and transferring to a four year university to finish an engineering degree. He is considering Purdue among others. We at PHHS know he’ll do well!
